Notes about these stories

and some explanations of terms.

March 12, 1993

These stories were originally presented in Chronological order, in other words in the order in which events occurred. It had been planned to continue these stories until the threads slowly met, creating one single cord. However due to the very poor reception of this style of writing (which several have claimed would not have occurred had this been a 'comic book’) all plans for further stories have been placed on hold. It is hoped that these stories, and those already completed can someday be combined into a single storyline (ie: book) in the future.

In regards to the letters FTL, several questions have arisen about this. FTL means FASTER THAN LIGHT. Warp Drive is anchored in the Star Trek universe, the Naorhy do not exist in any copyrighted universe not my own. Also, their FTL drive is not as efficient as the STWD. In the 1950's through the 1960's several different words were used for FTL travel from Bubble Space, Nul Space, Sub-Space, and others with HYPERDRIVE popularly holding the niche currently held by Warp Drive. I assume that in the future another label will replace Warp Drive as it replaced Hyperdrive.

As for the Naorhy. They exist in a 1950's style universe. They have no knowledge of 'humans' no do I expect to bring humans into the stories anytime soon although Mr. Owens has indicated that his VJ race have ships designed from a recovered human wreak. The massive female to male unbalance is due to a medical 'experiment' that went radically wrong (as an example of such an experiment see any number of badly made science fiction stories, shows and movies.) Naorhy tend to treat their males as most human males treat human females.

Standard Year is the time is takes Earth to orbit its parent star once.

Gate, A Gate is a sub-space rip between two very lose points in space. Distance is no more that 1,000 miles, 1,500 if there are two Gate devices on each end. A Gate must be walked through or dragged across the target. In the second case, yes everything the Gate drags across ends up in the Gate room. Dirt, water, swamp you name it. A Gate cannot open in the presence of a massive magnetic field. If a gate closes for any reason while you are passing through it, so sorry. You now have a split personality and are very, very dead.
