Unexpected Destination

Phileana ended the transmission, retrieving her now dry credit chip from the bank transfer machine. Nodding to herself she turned back to the transporter controls, setting a short delay to allow her to reach the pads well before activation. Pulling a small envelope from her blouse she placed it in the Klippers intership mailing system. Crestly would receive her apology long after she was gone.

Stepping up to a pad she heard the door open, turning back she saw Figure M walk in and lean on the transporter control station. "Where go?" asked the child like creature. The bear sighed, smiling slightly. "RedRavenisinrange," she answered, running one paw though her disheveled hair, "TheyagreedtotakemeonasJuniorScienceOfficer. WithCrestlyangryitsbestIleaveforawhile."

M ran one finger along the controls, looking up at the android. "You mad Crestly?" it asked, "Crestly nice, maybe mistake?" Phileana frowned slightly, "Yesamistake,mine." She closed her eyes, "Itsalongstory, butImadeamajorerror, andIhavetoleaveinordertohave-

anotherchancelater."

The computer started its countdown, the bear readied herself for the discomfort of human transporters. M shook its head, "Not right" it said, one hand slapping the console. "No go, talk Crestly," It started towards the woman as the beam energized. "No, No" it yelled, "Puter, bring back friend."

Seconds past. "Unable to comply, subject Android no longer exists."

Figure M scratched its head, "On Raven Red, bring back."

"Negative, subject transported maximum dispersion, unable to recover subject."

M frowned, turning back to the doorway. "See Minstrel, fix everything" it muttered as it left. Behind it, jumbled numbers quietly glowed on the console, numbers accidently changed by a confused character.
